According to the European Regulation 432/2012 (L136/25.5.2012 p. 26) of European Food & Safety Authority ( E.F.S.A ) only olive oil which contains at least 250mg of polyphenols per kilo of olive oil, that is at least 5g of polyphenols per tbsp (20g) of olive oil can bear the Health Claim.
This specific European Directive allows olive oils which meet these specifications to bear a special label on their packaging with this Health Claim.
